Notes for Arnold (Spouse 1)
Married by Rev. Isaac Foster, miniser of Hallewell.
There were several Sweet families in Kennebec Co. in the 1820 census. A number appear in the Vital records of Wintrop in the late 18th century.
Notes for Phineas (Spouse 2)
Phineas Taylor was born in August 1772, probably in Maine or New Hampshire. It could not be determined who his parents were. He was at Monmouth, which is near Winthrop, Maine, before his marriage.

By 1799, Phineas was living in Winthrop, County Kennebec, Maine. On 7 September 1799 he married Polly Bonney. They were married by Nathaniel Fairbanks, Justice of the Peace. They remained at Winthrop, where the family probably operated a farm. Phineas died at Winthrop on 20 May 1829. A Phinehas Taylor is lised as head of household in the 1810 census of Winthrop in the right age range. Only the head of household is named, and others in age range and sex. Those in the household were 2 male, one shown as between 10 & 16 and the other between 26 &45 and 4 females, 3 between 0 and 9 and 1 between 26 & 45. It appears son Isaac’s age may have been slightly overstated, and there was another daughter not found in the vital records. The age ranges for the daughters and the husband and wife are in the correct range. The 1800 census shows the spelling Phinease” and the two oldest members of the household as being between 26 and 45 which agrees with the ages of Phineas and Polly. It indicates more in the household than the 1820 census : 4 males and 4 females (3 each besides the oldest). 2 males are under 10 and 1 is between 11&15. The 3 females are all under 10.

Marriage record indicates he was from Monmouth.

Note:
The date of birth of Phineas was determined from his age stated in his death record. I searched records for births of a Phineas Taylor in Maine and New Hampshire for several years around 1772. Only one possible record could be found: the birth of a Phineas Taylor on 25 October 1774, in Wolfboro, Carroll County, New Hampshire. This date differs from the date determined from the death record, but such a discrepency is not uncommon. If these two records for Phineas Taylor are for the same person, then "our" Phineas was a son of Thomas Taylor and Abigail Piper. If this is the case, then Isaac Bonney Taylor (ID=2617) and Sophrona D. Taylor (ID=2618), discussed earlier, would be first cousins.
